6th Commandment 10 COMMANDMENT CHALLENGE

The 10 COMMANDMENT CHALLENGE:  The 6th Commandment Thou Shalt not Kill. The more modern versions say Thou shalt not Murder. Ok lets start there.
Websters Dictionary defines Murder and Kill as
the crime of unlawfully killing a person especially with malice aforethought
2a : something very difficult or dangerous <the traffic was murder>
b : something outrageous or blameworthy <getting away with murder> and
Kill is defined by  (transitive verb)1a : to deprive of life : cause the death of

b (1) : to slaughter (as a hog) for food (2) : to convert a food animal into (a kind of meat) by slaughtering
2a : to put an end to <kill competition>

Wikipedia defines ...You shall not murder sometimes translated as You shall not kill, KJV Thou shalt not kill (LXX οὐ φονεύσεις, translating Hebrew לֹא תִּרְצָח lo tirṣaḥ), is a moral imperative included as one of the Ten Commandments in the Torah,[1] specifically Exodus 20:13 and Deuteronomy 5:17.
The imperative is against unlawful killing resulting in bloodguilt. The Hebrew Bible contains numerous prohibitions against unlawful killing, but also allows for justified killing in the context of warfare, capital punishment, and self-defense.

Ok so everyone has this one covered right? Never killed or murdered anyone so Im good? We all think this one is a done deal ...but is it as simply put as we understand it??

Taking a look back in the Bible The 1st death is seen in the very first book of  the bible. It was the slaughter of a lamb used for clothing Adam and Eve, after their disobedience and banishment from Eden.  The first murder however, which is a very different event, was the fight between Cain and Abel. Cain let his jealousy get the better of him and he slay(murdered) his brother.

"In The Institutes of the Christian Religion, John Calvin viewed the purport of this commandment as the safety of all being entrusted to each person. All violence and injustice, and every kind of harm from which our neighbor’s body suffers is thereby prohibited. Christians are therefore required to faithfully perform that which is within their power to defend the life of their neighbor, be vigilant in warding off harm, and assist in removing danger when it comes. Calvin asserts that the same rule must also be applied in regulating the mind against anger, arguing that since God sees the heart and mind, the commandment against shedding innocent blood also prohibits murder of the heart and requires a sincere desire to preserve our brother’s life. The hand does not commit the murder unless it is conceived by the mind under the influence of wrath and hatred. According to Calvin, where wrath and hatred dwell, there is an inclination to do mischief, quoting the Bible, “whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer”(1 John 3:15) and “whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgement” (Gospel of Matthew 5:22).[79]"

Not only is it made very clear it is to be adhered to as it is one of the 10 commandments but it is also spoken of in Leviticus 24:17-18. It simply states in very clear terms that If someone kills a man he should be put to death.  If he kills a beast, it is a beast for a beast. It is repeated again in Leviticus 24:21 lines later almost exactly.
Sidenote: This helps one to understand the hierarchy of animals in the chain of Gods order as well.

Matthew 5:21-22 Talks of those who have anger in their heart( murder in their heart)are in danger of the judgement.
If you are angry with someone you are in danger of judgement.  You cannot control another's actions but you can control your reaction.

But is there significance in the original bible saying Thou shall not Kill and newer versions substituting the word Murder? Murder is defined as taking a life either in anger, or accidental with malice in your heart while killing someone or something is pretty restrictive to taking a life at all in any circumstance. So what is the answer?

Some Christian denominations think it is acceptable that we defend ourselves come the time of the tribulation specifically when referring to the End times, while others think what Jesus meant when he said that we are to turn the other cheek means not to ensue in any violence at all.Did he include self defense in the "no violence"? He didn't defend himself and He healed the guard who Peter injured while arresting Jesus..Is that because Jesus fully knows that God is in control of everything at all times?  Make no mistake, He is in full control at all times but what is the answer? What do you think?

Now what about on a more day to day basis?
If the true meaning once translated meant Kill rather than Murder then does this commandment also include what we do to ourselves on a daily basis as well? Would He include what we drink (alcohol, soda pop, energy drinks), smoke(cigarettes) and what we consume as food(fast food and junk) as us killing ourselves a little at a time? The Bible does mention that our body is a temple and that we should not desecrate it, that life is a gift from God and not to be taken advantage of and that we are to eat a proper diet which is listed in Leviticus. Contrary to popular Christian opinion, it is meant for True Believers in Jesus and the Bible again, not just the Jewish. It is in no way a punishment. It all makes sense when you understand how unhealthy we all eat now that we don't follow Gods advice and instruction.

In the terms of abortion and euthanasia, well....never meaning any disrespect, but its part of what we have all been doing so wrong for so long... it really seems pretty self explanatory. Life is a gift from God that we all take for granted. I think when we start trying to decide the fate of the very gifts that He gave us ,we show what little faith we have in our Lord. It is a slippery slope we need to be careful of.

So what do you think? Did the original text and Jesus teach us that we are to never kill anyone under any circumstances or is it permissible to take a life in the case of self defense, warding off danger and in defending the life of a neighbour as the Christian Institute understands it??

CHALLENGE: Start living healthy today. Start eating properly, work toward quitting smoking/drinking/overeating, cut your favourite junk food out of your diet.  Start realizing your body is the temple that God gave you. Look after that temple to the best of your ability. Keep it clean like you would the engine of a vehicle to avoid disease and illness. Increase your mental health. Clean your life of any negative and distracting items that keep you from being healthy both mentally and physically.  I'm not saying do everything all at once but do try and keep trying until you get it ;)  You will get it. We all will if we try and we just follow the path God laid out for us. Read Leviticus again to see what our diet is to consist of :) It was not done away with only the sacrifices were ;) Let's start living the way God wanted.

God Bless

The Fifth Commandment HONOUR THY FATHER AND THY MOTHER

Good afternoon all ;)  The Blog topic today is in continuing with our 10 Commandment Challenge and is the 5th Commandment  Honour thy Father and Mother.  We don't honour our parents anymore. We don't honour people anymore. Not so long ago we were still honouring in this country as God has commanded. In some other countries honour is still big but on the Western side of the world we have lost the relevance of honouring someone.  We use to honour our elders for their knowledge and the expertise they could offer, now we put so much emphasis on youth and our looks and staying young that our elders are left to be seen as more of a burden and nuisance in their latter days and because of that we are disregarding what God has told us.
1Timothy 5:17 "Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine"
Today most families need to work full time so there is no one to stay at home with the elder parent but the costs to house our elders are exceedingly expensive as well.  This was done intentionally in the grand scheme of the plan.  Don't get angry. I'm not judging anyone. Everyone is in their own situations financially and that may or may not have been before you really gave any of this any thought.  It may also be that like the rest of us you also got caught up in the trap set by Satan to make us break this commandment as well. We should be honouring our parents by caring for them in their old age like they cared for us as children. That is the way God would want it but instead we get carried away with our own stresses and personal financial obligations and think we can't afford to have them live with us. We get so wrapped up in money and its ripping tearing grip it has on everything that we forget about faith? We all too often forget that in the big picture HE tells us to listen and to follow him and his ways and the Lord will take care of us. HE knows what we need long before we know what we need.

If we just listen to Him then how could we go in the wrong direction? ;)

The Bible is filled with examples of children and parents and the topic of honouring them.  Matthew 15:4-9 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.
But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;
And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

So what is honour? To give something value and dignity. Do we ever stop to say " wow my parents were of great value to me?" Well some of us have just realized how it all fits into Gods plan myself included.  I have recently sent both of my parents writings to tell them how much I honour the both of them and value what they have taught me.  Some people may say "well my parents were horrible parents, they don't deserve honour."  I'm not in anyway going to say that all parents were cut out for the job and some of them did an awful job whether intentionally or for lack of knowledge but the Bible is very clear that we are still to obey the Lord and honour our parents. It does not say "just the good ones"  :) He actually isn't really asking either....he actually commands it of us to honour our parents.  This does not mean in anyway that as an adult you have to do whatever your parents tell you but keep in mind when Mary told Jesus that he should make wine at the wedding in John 2:4 and he replied "Woman what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come" Mary follows by saying "Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it."  In his statement he gently states that this is not his concern reiterating that he is the Saviour of the World with a very different purpose and it is ultimately God he takes his orders from.  However; Jesus still honoured his mother and turned the water into wine for the wedding.

There are too many cases of elder abandonment or elder abuse going on in our systems today. Nursing homes were not how God intended it. The government system for Old age security and CPP and  retirement accounts have allowed us to be changed and sadly not for the better. Definitely not in Gods eyes. Children should care for their parents.  1Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

1Timothy 5:16
If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed.  Simply put let not the church look after your relatives to leave room for the church to look after the true widows, the ones with no families.

Honouring scripture references: Proverbs 20:20 "Whoso curseth his father or mother, his lamp shall be put out in the obscure darkness."

Proverbs 30:11-17 11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.
12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.
13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.
15 The horseleach hath two daughters, crying, Give, give. There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough:
16 The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not filled with water; and the fire that saith not, It is enough.
17 The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.

We are supposed to work together as a family unit not as individuals as we have been mislead to believe. There should be no social systems family should help family and since God says we are all family then we effectively should always be helping each other all the time.

1Timothy 5:4  But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.

CHALLENGE: Call/Write your parents today, doesn't matter whether they are alive or dead  and let them know that you honour them and that you appreciate everything they did for you. Even the bad in your life has brought you here- to this very moment and everything that happened was meant to happen. Its all part of Gods plan and even though we don't know what that is necessarily is, HE does and he'd never steer us wrong ;) Take that next step along with me and my family in honouring God starting by fully understanding his Commandments.
God Bless

The fourth commandment of 10 commandment challenge- HONOUR THE SABBATH AND KEEP IT HOLY ..."GOD doesn't call the Qualified...HE Qualifies the CALLED!"

I have already done a blog on the truth of the fact that we should honour the weekly Sabbath he speaks of here but also the other Holy Days and Sabbaths mistakenly believed to be only for the Jewish religion.

The Fourth commandment ... Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Many claim that we are no longer to honour the Sabbath since Jesus' death on the cross but right away my first question than is this...Why did Jesus tell his disciples to pray their flight would not be in winter or on the Sabbath day if the Sabbath day was not to continue? Matthew 24:20 " But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day"Why did the disciples even after Jesus' resurrection still keep the Sabbath? Why were  gentiles in the synagogues with the Jews listening to Paul preach on every sabbath if it ended?  Why does Jesus tell the last generation to pray that the tribulation doesn't come in the winter or on the Sabbath day proving it to be the weekly sabbath he was referring to? Christ was definitely talking about a future event that would not take place until way after his death burial and resurrection and he could only have been talking about two flights here which was the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD and the Great tribulation which we are about to enter or BOTH. This simple warning and statement does not allow for any 'rapture' either.  Jesus' true followers will have to FLEE at the onset of the Tribulation to escape the revived political entity and the False Prophet that heads up a fraudulent 'christianity' when they think they will be doing God service by murdering those heretics True Christians that keep the Sabbath.
Looking down through time,-Christ knew His true followers would be keeping the 4th commandment, the Sabbath, and not the day of the SUN god Baal. He wants us to pray that when we do have to flee it will not happen on a Sabbath Day nor in the winter time because He knows that the true believers would be honoring God on that day.   He also doesn't want to see us suffer the perils of winter.
Jesus as was His custom observed the Sabbath. It was never done away with and in fact it was a Law since creation thousands of years before any Jew was born. "Christianity" adopted the pagan day of the sun to gain pagan converts to their religion and hence is not based upon Biblical authority.
Either way Christ is expecting his true followers to be keeping the Sabbath during these flights Thus saith the Lord. Does anyone want to disregard the very words of Christ himself? ……
Did Jesus not mean what he said when he said if you break even the least of the commandments and teach others to do so that you will be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven? Was that not true? I don't believe Jesus to be a liar..do you?Don't worry about anyone who belittle you by calling you all sorts of names for doing what GOD TOLD YOU TO DO. Just keeping doing his will. Stay true to your faith and don't be afraid.. "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7 ..and pray for those who don't understand.. "Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be." Romans 8:7
It is made very clear that the law was not done away with and is not only for the Jewish people Isaiah 56:6-7 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the Lord, to serve him and to love the name of the Lord, to be his servants everyone that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer; their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for ALL people" The use of the word ALL is usually ignored by false teachers.

Of course some will ' not get it' and think that simply talking about love and peace and accepting the Lord is all that is required of them. Man has made the mistake for eons thinking that we can invent our own religions and  honor God with their fabrications but God is not impressed or pleased. Continue to keep the commandments of GOD. Do not be discouraged. There are many that claim to know GOD but they have very little understanding regarding the things that he wants us to do even though they are right in our face in the bible. Keep up the good work, And never forget the 4th commandment. GOD BLESS

Please refer to my other blogs on this topic. One is titled "Sunday - A violation of Sabbath?" and " The Holy Days we are to honour"
The Fourth Commandment—observing the seventh day Sabbath—is the one most professing Christians refuse to obey. Most assume that men have the authority to change the Sabbath to whatever day is most convenient.Yet Christ kept the Sabbath on the seventh day. “And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up: and, as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read” (Luke 4:16). This is JESUS we are talking about here. Jesus kept the correct Sabbath day and yet we think we are supposed to change it to Sunday? Hmmm... What example did Paul follow? Jesus or himself?

Paul followed Jesus' example. He taught in the synagogues on the Sabbath (Acts 17:2). And not just to the Jews, but also to the Gentiles(those out of covenant). (Acts 13:42, 44). There no evidence that Paul led them to keep Sunday and there is no evidence that the Jews accused Paul of not keeping the Sabbath indicating that he must have held to the original and only correct day; Friday sundown to Saturday sundown. It was changed by the Roman Catholic church under their own authority and still in their documents going back to when Roman empire and Christianity were deceptively intermingled. When correctly translated, Hebrews 4:9 should read, “There remains therefore a keeping of the Sabbath to the people of God.”
Christ also says that He “is the same yesterday, and today, and forever” (Heb. 13:8) meaning He will not change now or in the future. New Testament observance of the seventh-day Sabbath is established in Hebrews 4:9.xo
Don't take my word for it...Look it up xo
Sabbath is today until sundown not Sunday like you have been tricked into believing. This may not seem important now but it will once it becomes a Divider amongst believers and non believers alike.Peter 5:8 Be sober be vigilant because your adversary the devil walketh about seeking who he may devour" And has many deceived

Challenge: Start to honour the true Sabbath day of our Lord as he intended. Do not Work on Sabbath. The day was meant to build a relationship with HIM and to begin to understand his true purpose for you. You can spend your time with family doing bible study and learning about God, KEEP IN MIND THAT if you aren't working then he would want no one working....so no buying anything this day either. No shopping at all! make sure you have everything you need before Friday at sundown until Saturday at sundown showing you put some thought into spending the time with him and putting him first. Save all your chores for another day....there are 6 other days to do that and yes I AGREE  society has made it VERY  difficult to follow Gods instructions in this area as Saturday is one of the  busiest days of the week for shopping and as someone who is self employed IT IS VERY TOUGH but you have to have faith that if you are holding to Gods commandments he will look after you. You are never to fear anything but God himself and we would be better people to remember that xoxoxo
We need to start to think the God intended us to think. If everyone held to the truth and Gods word on Sabbath,  then everything would already be closed on Saturday and wouldn't be an issue  but that unfortunately is not the case....It is however what he expects of us. WHEN YOU FEEL ALONE ON THIS PATH Remember Daniel and praying in the window contrary to public acceptance  and Shadrack, Meshack and Abendego. What was their reward for holding true?? ;):)
 REMEMBER....
"God doesn't call the Qualified ....HE qualifies the CALLED"  Author unknown  XOXOXOX
